Anambra Launches Free Emergency Ambulance Services Across State

Anambra launches free ambulance service to boost emergency care and save lives across the state.

Government says trained responders now stationed statewide to ensure swift and life-saving interventions.

The Anambra State Government has rolled out a free emergency medical and ambulance response service under the Anambra State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (ASEMSAS), aimed at improving access to swift and life-saving interventions for residents across the state.

According to the ASEMSAS, the service is now fully operational and accessible to all residents at no cost, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening public healthcare delivery and emergency response infrastructure.

Citizens in need of urgent medical assistance or ambulance evacuation are advised to call the toll-free emergency numbers: 112, 5111, or 0800 220 0008. These hotlines are available round-the-clock and are manned by trained responders ready to dispatch aid to accident scenes, medical emergencies, and other life-threatening situations.

The initiative forms part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s broader vision to improve healthcare accessibility and save lives, especially in rural and underserved communities. ASEMSAS teams are strategically stationed across key locations in the state, equipped with modern ambulances and trained paramedics.

Health authorities have encouraged the public to take note of the emergency numbers and spread awareness, emphasizing that rapid response during emergencies can make the difference between life and death.
