Anambra First Lady Dr. Nonye Soludo receives top NMA award for championing healthy living efforts.

Dr. Nonye Soludo, wife of the Anambra State Governor and founder of the “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo” initiative, has been honored by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State Chapter, for her remarkable contributions to public health and wellness advocacy.
The award was conferred during the association’s 2025 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference held in Awka. According to the NMA, the recognition celebrates Dr. Soludo’s unwavering commitment to advancing healthy living practices and reshaping the healthcare landscape in the state.
Receiving the award on her behalf, Anambra State Commissioner for Health and State Coordinator of the Healthy Living initiative, Dr. Afam Obidike, described the recognition as a strong motivation for the First Lady to deepen her humanitarian impact through health education and grassroots mobilization.
Dr. Obidike, who was also an award recipient at the event, praised the NMA for acknowledging the First Lady’s strategic use of her platform to champion child rights, maternal and infant health, women empowerment, and nutritional awareness. He noted that her movement has successfully shifted public attitudes toward wellness and healthy lifestyles.
Highlighting her influence, the NMA stated that Dr. Soludo’s voice and leadership have brought practical health solutions to thousands of residents through her engaging platforms. Her consistent advocacy, the association added, has made her the foremost figure in Anambra’s public health space.
She was notably the only female among the honorees a testament to the exceptional regard her initiative has garnered since its launch over three years ago.
The award brief further acknowledged her transformative efforts, emphasizing that her NGO has redefined healthy living across Anambra State and set a benchmark for sustainable public health advocacy.
