Katsina Governor Radda Speaks After Road Crash

Governor Radda confirms he’s safe after car crash on Daura–Katsina road Sunday evening.

He thanks citizens for prayers, says he’s healthy and resting under medical watch at home.

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has confirmed he is in good health and under observation at home following a road accident along the Daura–Katsina highway on Sunday evening.

Governor Radda’s convoy reportedly collided head-on with a Volkswagen Golf car while returning from an engagement.

He was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman-Nasir, and another aide, all of whom were taken to the Federal Medical Center in Daura before being transferred to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina for further evaluation.

In a statement issued on Monday, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, said Radda expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and well-wishes from citizens across the state and beyond. The governor also shared a short live video to reassure the public about his condition, saying:

“Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Dear brothers and sisters of Katsina State and beyond, we are deeply grateful for all your prayers and concerns. By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident, but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed.”

Governor Radda added that he is currently resting at his private residence under medical observation, emphasising that the measure is precautionary.

“I’m pleased to confirm that I remain in good health and high spirits. Once again, thank you for your heartfelt prayers,” he said.
