Katsina Police Command Disburses Over ₦10.9 Million to Families of Fallen Officers
Katsina Police Command has distributed over ₦10.9 million to families of officers who died in service.
The gesture, under IGP welfare schemes, honors their sacrifice and supports surviving relatives.
The Katsina State Police Command has disbursed a total of ₦10,957,292.72 to 34 beneficiaries as part of the Group Life Assurance and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Family Welfare Scheme.

The funds were presented on Thursday to the next of kin of police officers who lost their lives while serving under the command. The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, was represented at the event by the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Aminu Gusau.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, and made available to journalists on Friday in Katsina.
According to the statement, CP Shehu expressed appreciation to the IGP, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his unwavering support to the families of fallen officers. He described the gesture as a demonstration of empathy and a strong commitment to police welfare.
He urged the beneficiaries to view the support as a tribute to the sacrifices of their loved ones and advised them to use the money wisely for the benefit of their families. He also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed officers.
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Nuhu Bello Gohe thanked the Inspector General of Police for his compassion and timely intervention, assuring that the funds would be put to good use.
