Liverpool FC has announced a memorial in honor of Diogo Jota outside Anfield Stadium. The club will also launch tributes, including a “Forever 20” emblem and youth initiatives.

Liverpool Football Club has officially confirmed plans to honor the late Diogo Jota with a memorial sculpture at Anfield, following an outpouring of tributes from fans and players. The club shared the update on Thursday, just days after Jota’s tragic passing alongside his brother, André Silva.

The tribute will include a statue outside Anfield to immortalize Jota’s contributions both on and off the pitch. Known for his passion, versatility, and goal-scoring brilliance, Jota wore the number 20 shirt for Liverpool, a number that will now be commemorated with a “Forever 20” emblem added to the team’s official kits for the remainder of the season.
In addition to the statue and emblem, the club announced a grassroots football program in Jota’s name aimed at nurturing young talent and expanding access to the sport for underprivileged children. This initiative reflects Jota’s longstanding interest in supporting youth development throughout his career.
Furthermore, proceeds from customized “Jota 20” jerseys will be directed toward the LFC Foundation, the club’s charitable arm, to support community outreach, mental health, and football inclusion projects that were close to Jota’s heart.
Liverpool FC’s statement read:
“We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to everyone who has taken the time to leave tributes in honour of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva at Anfield. The club is now able to provide details on how it will create more permanent tributes moving forward.”
Fans have continued to gather outside Anfield, laying flowers, scarves, and messages at the temporary memorial site. The permanent statue is expected to be unveiled in the coming months as part of a broader remembrance campaign.
