Six Nigerian Law School students have been kidnapped by suspected bandits along the Wukari-Benue highway.

The abductors are demanding ₦20 million as families and authorities await urgent rescue efforts.

Suspected bandits have kidnapped six students of the Nigerian Law School along the dangerous Wukari-Benue highway while they were returning to the Yola campus in Adamawa State.

The abduction reportedly happened late Saturday, July 26, 2025, as the students travelled after completing their mandatory court externship, ahead of the school’s reopening on Monday, July 28.

A student of the Yola campus, who identified himself as Johnson, confirmed the incident and said the kidnappers have contacted the families of the victims, demanding ₦20 million for their release.

The missing students were identified as Rev. Ernest Okafor, Ogbuka Fabian, Nwamma Philip, Okechukwu Obadiegwu, Obalem Emmanuel, and Obiorah David. They were said to be travelling in a vehicle operated by AJ Dan Pullo Transport Company, which is based in Onitsha, Anambra State.

As of the time of reporting, authorities have not issued any official statement on the incident.

The Wukari–Benue axis, where the abduction is believed to have taken place, is known for frequent cases of kidnapping and violent attacks, making it one of the most dangerous routes in the region.
