The girlfriend of a young fish vendor who was recently kidnapped and murdered in Anambra State has spoken out, recounting the heartbreaking details surrounding his tragic death.

In her emotional account, she revealed that their last conversation was on Saturday night, July 26, 2025, at about 9 p.m. Unknowingly, that call would be their final exchange. The next night, Sunday, around 10 p.m., he was reportedly shot near his family’s home and taken away by unidentified gunmen.
The kidnappers contacted his family shortly after, demanding a ransom of ₦10 million within just 20 minutes. His mother, fondly referred to as “mumsi,” managed to raise the money and sent it before the deadline.
Sadly, there was no further word from the abductors until 4 a.m. Monday. Then, the family was told to go to St. Matthew Catholic Church to find him. When his mother and sister arrived, they found him critically injured but still breathing. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead shortly after.
Later that same day, his vehicle was discovered abandoned in Amobia. Reports also claimed that the attackers had emptied his bank and digital wallet accounts.
The young man’s girlfriend, who co-founded their businesses MG Bodybang, Fish Magnet, and MG Logistics shared how they built everything together from nothing. She spoke of their bond, the struggles they overcame in 2023, and the life they were building.
“He was the most humble man I ever knew… my silent bullion van,” she wrote in a tribute.
She also expressed deep sorrow for his mother and his siblings Dex, Chebe, and Kasie and asked how they could possibly move forward after such a loss.
Her touching message has drawn widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians mourning and demanding justice.
Authorities say the investigation into his death is still ongoing.
