Police Confirm Abduction of Four Farmers in Ebonyi Community
Ebonyi Police confirm four people were kidnapped while farming in Akpoha community, Afikpo.
Officers and local leaders are working together to find the victims and investigate the case.
The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of four individuals in Akpoha Autonomous Community, located in Afikpo Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, the victims were abducted on July 24 while working on their farms by unidentified assailants.
Police spokesperson, Joshua Ukandu, stated on Thursday that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Afikpo Division verified the incident and has since taken steps to investigate the matter.
“When I contacted the DPO to verify the report, he confirmed that officers had visited the scene to gather information and assess the situation,” Ukandu said.
He added that a full investigation and search operation is underway, with local leaders including community heads and traditional rulers working with the police to uncover the motive and ensure the safe return of the victims.
Ukandu noted that more information will be made available once the investigation is completed.
