Heung-min Son Bids Emotional Farewell to Tottenham, Eyes Move to MLS

Heung-min Son has confirmed his exit from Tottenham Hotspur after a decade of memorable achievements.

The South Korean captain now eyes a fresh challenge, with MLS side Los Angeles FC in view.

Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son has announced his departure from the club after a remarkable 10-year spell, confirming he is seeking a fresh challenge away from north London.

The 33-year-old South Korean forward, who scored 162 goals during his time with Spurs and recently led them to a Europa League triumph, revealed that he has informed club officials and new manager Thomas Frank of his decision to move on.

“I have asked to leave Spurs. My decision has been made. I did my best here, and I need a fresh challenge now,” Son said in an emotional farewell.

Negotiations are currently underway for a potential move to Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC, after previous interest from Saudi Arabian clubs earlier in May. Sources suggest the MLS is now his most likely destination.

Reflecting on his journey, Son said, “It’s the most difficult decision of my life. I came to North London as a kid, a boy who couldn’t speak English. I leave this club as a young man.”

He added a heartfelt message to fans: “Thanks to all the Spurs fans who have given me so much love.”

Son’s departure marks the end of an era at Tottenham, where he became not only a fan favorite but also one of the club’s all-time greats.
