VeryDarkMan Claims Naira Marley Was Bigger Than Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy Before Scandal
VeryDarkMan claims Naira Marley once had a bigger fanbase than Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
He says jealousy in the industry contributed to Marley’s downfall after the Mohbad controversy.
Controversial social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has claimed that Naira Marley was once more influential than some of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, including Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
In a recent video posted on TikTok, VeryDarkMan said Naira Marley had the largest fanbase in the country before he was “cancelled” following allegations linking him to the death of his former signee, Mohbad.
“Naira Marley was bigger than Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido. He had a very large fanbase both in Nigeria and abroad until this Mohbad issue. The music industry is so dark. The jealousy in the industry is too much,” he said.
VeryDarkMan was among those who initially pushed for Naira Marley’s cancellation in the wake of the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death. However, he has recently shifted his stance and is now speaking in defense of Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry.
He also called on authorities to bring the matter to a close so the public can move on.
