Police in Anambra State have arrested 32-year-old Charles Chinonso, a suspected armed robber, and recovered a vehicle reportedly stolen in Awka South Local Government Area.

The operation, conducted in the early hours of Sunday, August 10, 2025, by the Special Anti-Cultism Squad in Enugwu-Ukwu, took place at Umuazu Village, Nise.

Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga said the suspect is also linked to a separatist group, adding that the recovered car was stolen in Imo State.

The arrest followed a complaint from the victim, who reported the vehicle was snatched in the World Bank Housing Area of Owerri West, Imo State. Acting on intelligence, officers tracked the car to Nise and apprehended the suspect without resistance.
