The Nigerian Army’s 1 Brigade has reported the killing of two terrorists and the seizure of weapons in separate security operations in Zamfara and Kebbi states.

According to military sources cited by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the first operation took place around 10:13 a.m. on Sunday when soldiers from the brigade carried out a fighting patrol in Tubali village, Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara. The mission followed intelligence reports about a possible attack on the Forward Operating Base in Galadi.
Makama said the troops encountered armed men during the patrol, resulting in the death of one terrorist. An AK-47 rifle was recovered, and no soldiers were injured. The patrol team reportedly returned to base at about 2:10 p.m.
In a separate mission, troops moved to Konangoro-Duko junction in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State at about 10:12 a.m. The operation was in response to an earlier attack on a joint post manned by the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Customs Service.
“The terrorists ran when they saw the troops approaching, but they were chased down. One was killed, and an AK-47 rifle along with two magazines was recovered,” Makama stated.
