Forgive K1 De Ultimate Like the Prodigal Son, MC Oluomo Appeals to Tinubu
MC Oluomo appeals to Tinubu to pardon Fuji star K1 De Ultimate after Abuja flight incident.
He urges lifting six-month no-fly ban, citing musician’s apology and willingness to make amends.
Musiliu Akinsanya, the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), popularly called MC Oluomo, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pardon Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, better known as K1 De Ultimate.
His plea comes in the wake of K1’s viral altercation with airline officials in Abuja. According to FAAN spokesperson Obiageli Orah, the dispute began after the musician allegedly brought alcohol on board a practice prohibited on domestic flights leading to a confrontation with a flight attendant.
Following the incident, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo imposed a six-month no-fly ban on K1 for both domestic and international flights, pending further investigation.
In a statement posted on Instagram, MC Oluomo urged President Tinubu, NCAA Director-General Capt. Chris Najomo, and Minister Keyamo to show leniency.
“To His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu… I humbly and fervently appeal to you to exercise mercy and forgiveness towards Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1). Like a prodigal son, K1 has acknowledged his mistakes, is sincerely apologetic, and is willing to make amends,” he wrote.
He further requested that authorities lift the ban on both K1 and the pilot, Oluranti Ogoyi, who were penalized following the incident at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
