Pastor Abel Damina Says Tattoos Can Be Acceptable if They Honor God
Pastor Abel Damina says tattoos are not sinful if they carry messages that honor God.
He explains Old Testament restrictions no longer apply, urging Christians to consider intent and meaning.
Pastor Abel Damina, founder of Power City International Ministry, has said that getting a tattoo is not a sin, provided it carries a message that glorifies God.

Speaking on the 234 Mzansi Podcast hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, the cleric explained that the Old Testament law prohibited tattoos, but that restriction no longer applies under the New Testament.
“In the Old Testament, tattoos were prohibited because they say you shouldn’t draw marks on your body. But in the New Testament, Jesus has abolished that law.“
“So, if you want to have a tattoo, God is not against it. It’s your body. But make sure what you are putting there honors God and has meaning,” he said.
Damina stressed that the key consideration for Christians should be the intention behind the tattoo and whether it reflects values that align with their faith.
