Catholic Priest Urges Those Who Watched Viral Ibom Air Passenger Video to Go for Confession

Catholic priest Emmanuel Ehioma urged those repeatedly replaying the viral Ibom Air altercation video to confess.

He likened repeated viewing of the exposed passenger to consuming pornography, calling it morally wrong.

Catholic priest Emmanuel Ehioma has called on people who repeatedly watched the viral video of an Ibom Air passenger’s altercation, during which she was partially exposed, to seek confession.

The footage, widely circulated on X, showed passenger Comfort Emmanson hitting a flight attendant and confronting airport security. Subsequent clips captured her being dragged off the aircraft with torn clothing that exposed her breast. Ibom Air has since placed a flight ban on her, while the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) condemned the release of the “unedited” video and pledged to provide her with pro bono legal support.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Ehioma said viewers bore no fault for watching the clip the first time since they were unaware it contained nudity. However, he likened repeated viewing to watching pornography.

“The second, third, fourth and other times you went back… were because of your hunger to see her nude,” he wrote. “It is really regrettable to see husbands, fathers, and even wives and mothers describing a lady’s breast. Kindly meet your Priest and confess to the Lord.”
