Anambra Police Condemn Brutal Kidnapping in Amansea, Launch Investigation
Anambra police chief CP Ikioye Orutugu has condemned the killing of a boy abducted in Amansea.
He urged public cooperation to help track the kidnappers and ensure justice is served.
Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has denounced what he described as a “heartless and barbaric” act following the abduction of three children in Amansea, which resulted in the killing of a young boy.
The incident, captured in a disturbing video now trending on social media, shows the suspected kidnappers allegedly murdering the boy after taking him and his two sisters.
While commiserating with the bereaved family and the residents of Amansea, CP Orutugu directed operatives from the State Intelligence Department to identify the surviving sibling to assist with the investigation. He urged members of the public to remain calm and vigilant, and to provide credible information that could lead to the swift arrest of the perpetrators.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating kidnapping and other violent crimes, stressing that the protection of lives and property remains the police’s constitutional responsibility.
Residents are encouraged to report any useful information to the police to aid the ongoing probe.
