Super Falcons Bonuses Cleared, Tinubu’s $100,000 Reward and Houses to Be Delivered
The National Sports Commission insists Super Falcons bonuses were cleared before their Morocco clash.
This follows striker Rasheedat Ajibade’s claims the team still awaits promised payments and rewards.
The National Sports Commission (NSC) has refuted claims that the Super Falcons are still being owed bonuses and entitlements, insisting that payments were cleared before the team’s last match against Morocco.

The response followed comments from Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade, who claimed the team was still awaiting the financial rewards and benefits pledged by the Federal Government.
NSC Denies Outstanding Bonuses Speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Friday, NSC Director-General Bukola Olopade said all due payments were settled prior to the Falcons’ semi-final clash with Morocco.
“I can state with certainty that all their bonuses have been settled. I personally spoke with Ajibade yesterday as well as with the NFF, and we are all aligned on this matter,” Olopade explained.
He admitted, however, that “one or two players” may have faced delays in accessing their funds due to banking-related complications involving the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Regarding the much-publicized $100,000 reward promised to the Super Falcons by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after their 2024 WAFCON victory, Olopade assured both the players and supporters that the pledge remains intact.
“On the promise of Mr President, I can assure you that it will be paid,” he noted. The DG further revealed that the Commission is working closely with the Ministry of Works and Housing as well as the Renewed Hope Housing Initiative to ensure that the houses pledged to the players will be delivered “in record time.” Ajibade’s Frustration
Ajibade had earlier expressed frustration over the delay in receiving both the monetary and housing rewards. Speaking in an interview earlier this week, she said the team had yet to see any evidence of the government’s promises being fulfilled.
Olopade maintained that the welfare of Nigerian athletes remains a top priority for the Commission and assured that no player would be left out once the process is finalized.
