Tim Godfrey Says Seeing Davido Vibe to His Song Rekindled His Gospel Mission
Gospel singer Tim Godfrey said Davido’s Miami wedding reignited his passion for gospel music.
He revealed seeing Davido enjoy his song reminded him of his global mission.
Gospel singer Tim Godfrey has revealed how a moment at Davido’s white wedding in Miami stirred him deeply and reignited his passion for spreading the gospel through music.

The ceremony, held on Sunday, August 10, was graced by notable figures including Aliko Dangote, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Obi Cubana and his wife, Dbanj and his wife, Uche Jombo, Zlatan and his wife, among others.
Godfrey recounted that seeing Davido enjoying his song during the event reminded him of his mission to reach beyond the church walls and impact lives on a global scale. He emphasized that gospel music should not be confined to the church alone, as some artists are called to mainstream platforms where they can influence diverse audiences.
He explained that many gospel artists don’t fully understand why they do what they do, stressing that their calling is to influence the world and win it for Christ.
He wrote: “I’m not going to play small about my labor for the gospel because the church is yet to see that not all of us are called for the four corners of the church! Some of us are sent mainstream to reach out to the stray.”
“I do not stand for the label that stops me from reaching the generation and people God has released us to reach in Acts 1:8.It doesn’t have to sound like church to be God Orchestrated. My name is Dr. Tim Godfrey, and I have NO LABEL but The Gospel!”
For the singer, the wedding moment with Davido served as confirmation that his ministry is not restricted to traditional spaces, but is meant to inspire and touch lives wherever the message of Christ can be heard.
