Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has condemned the Dangote Group following an accident involving one of its trucks, which left Ruth Otabor sister of reality TV star Phyna with one leg amputated and struggling for her life.
In a video shared on Instagram, Kuti described the tragedy as another example of how powerful business interests in Nigeria often evade proper regulation and accountability, even when lives are lost. He argued that such practices would not be tolerated in other countries, where companies could face lawsuits running into billions of dollars in damages.
The singer recalled that several Nigerians had died in previous crashes linked to Dangote trucks, yet no meaningful accountability followed. He criticized a system that allows wealthy businesses to expand at the expense of citizens, leaving ordinary people to bear the brunt in lives and livelihoods.
