Beverly Osu Says Her Role in Òlòtūré Left Her Depressed for Months
Actress Beverly Osu revealed Òlòtūré left her battling depression and identity crisis afterward.
She explained method acting made detachment difficult, requiring months of mental recovery to regain herself.
Nollywood actress and model Beverly Osu has disclosed that her role in the Netflix original film Òlòtūré left her dealing with depression for several months.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, Osu explained that the intensity of her character triggered an identity crisis, which eventually led to a three-month-long battle with depression.
She explained that as a method actor, it is difficult for her to simply step out of character without undergoing a long period of mental recovery.
She said: “What we are is what they call method actors. I can’t just read a script, execute it, and then in two days become another person. It takes a lot of mental detox before I can enter into another character.
“When I shot Òlòtūré and left the set, I was depressed for three months because of an identity crisis. I was trying to search and piece together fragments of Beverly in order to bring myself back.”
