Galadima Rules Out Alliance Between Kwankwaso and Tinubu in 2027

Buba Galadima has rejected claims Kwankwaso could align with Tinubu ahead of 2027 elections.

He accused the Federal Government of hostility in Kano, citing backing for the dethroned emir.

Buba Galadima, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has dismissed suggestions that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s leader and former Kano governor, could align with President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking on the matter, Galadima argued that the Tinubu administration has shown hostility towards Kwankwaso and the NNPP in Kano, citing the federal backing of the dethroned Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, who was removed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the NNPP.

“How can Kwankwaso be a friend of the APC with what they are doing to us in Kano? Appointing two emirs in one town? There is a Federal Government emir and a state emir. Who has the responsibility to appoint emirs and pay them their salaries?” Galadima queried.

He further accused the Federal Government of undermining the state by providing heavy security for the former emir. According to him, “They have their emirs. They have not less than 40 pickup vehicles filled with mobile police guarding the Emir.”

Galadima also expressed concern over insecurity in parts of Kano, alleging that while violent crimes were taking place in local communities, police resources were being diverted to protect the ousted emir. “In some localities in Kano, they are killing people and taking their handsets, and the police are tied down. Are they not ashamed?” he added.
