Actor Bishop Umoh Urges FG to Release Nnamdi Kanu for Sake of Peace
Okon Lagos has appealed for the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
He said freeing Kanu is morally right and crucial for fostering peace and unity.
Nollywood actor Ime Bishop Umoh, popularly known as Okon Lagos, has called on the Federal Government to free Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Speaking on the Clarity Zone podcast, Umoh argued that Kanu’s release would promote peace and national unity, stressing that it should be considered even if it does not align strictly with legal provisions.
“I strongly believe that Nnamdi Kanu should be released. Free him. It might not align with the legal arguments or the evidence presented about the alleged crimes he committed, but his release doesn’t have to make legal sense it makes moral sense,” he said.
When asked by host Nedu Wazobia what he meant by “moral common sense,” the actor explained: “It is morally right. At the end of the day, he is human and acted out of emotion and emotional decisions are not always the right ones. He believed his people were being marginalized, which drove him to begin the agitation for Biafra’s secession,” he explained.
Umoh maintained that a pardon would be a step toward reconciliation and healing in the country.
