Katsina’s Acting Governor Faruk Lawal-Jobe has urged urgent federal action after 13 worshippers’ killing.
He appealed to President Tinubu to direct security forces to end recurring community attacks.
The Acting Governor of Katsina State, Faruk Lawal-Jobe, has appealed to the Federal Government to swiftly step up security measures to shield residents from increasing attacks.
Lawal-Jobe made the call on Tuesday in Katsina following the killing of 13 worshippers during prayers at Unguwan Muntau, Malumfashi Local Government Area.
He stressed that immediate action from the Presidency is critical to ending the relentless violence targeting innocent people.
According to him, President Bola Tinubu should direct security agencies to confront the situation with firmness and put a stop to the recurring assaults on communities across the state. He noted that citizens of Katsina deserve to live and work without fear for their safety.
The acting governor added that farmers, traders, and families should not have to endure a life of constant insecurity. He urged the Federal Government to mobilize every available resource to strengthen the state’s security framework and guarantee protection for its people.
While calling for more assistance, Lawal-Jobe also expressed appreciation to the security operatives already on the ground, acknowledging the risks they take daily in safeguarding lives. He said their commitment and sacrifices would not be overlooked.
He further commended the contributions of the Community Watch Corps and Vigilante Groups, praising their resilience in helping to defend residents from criminal attacks.
The state government, he assured, remains committed to collaborating with federal authorities and security agencies to restore lasting peace and stability.
