Benue Governor Suspends SUBEB Chair, Two Others
Benue Governor Hyacinth Alia has suspended SUBEB chair Grace Adagba, alongside two other officials, for one month.
He said the action reflects his administration’s commitment to due process and accountability.
Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved the suspension of the Chairperson of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Grace Adagba, for one month.

The decision followed a resolution of the State House of Assembly, which had earlier recommended that Adagba be suspended for six months to allow for investigations into her activities at the board.
In a statement issued in Makurdi by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor also announced the suspension of the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Maxwell Ogiri, and the Executive Secretary of the Benue State Lottery Commission, Michael Uper. Both officials were suspended for one month each.
Governor Alia said the decision shows his government’s commitment to the rule of law, due process, and respect for separation of powers in the state.
