Rapper Lil Nas X Arrested and Hospitalized After Possible Overdose in Los Angeles

Rapper Lil Nas X, a two-time Grammy winner, has been arrested and hospitalized in Los Angeles following reports of a possible overdose and an altercation with police.

According to USA Today, the 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was taken into custody early Thursday morning, August 21, after officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call around 5:50 a.m. about a nude man wandering along the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard.

When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect allegedly charged at them, prompting the officers to restrain him and place him under arrest. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation due to concerns of a potential overdose. Officials confirmed that he was charged with battery against a police officer.

Although authorities initially withheld the suspect’s identity, inmate records from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department later confirmed it was Lil Nas X.

As of Thursday afternoon, neither his representatives nor his record label had issued an official statement regarding his condition or the circumstances surrounding the incident. Fans have since taken to social media, expressing shock and concern, and many are calling for sensitivity as the rapper receives treatment.
