Peter Obi’s Son Reacts to Viral Photos With Gay Man
Oseloka Obi has reacted to viral photos with Kent Okwesa, dismissing rumours and stressing his focus on theatre and filmmaking.
He urged Nigerians to ignore gossip and pay attention to real national issues.
Oseloka Obi, son of Nigerian politician Peter Obi, has responded to viral photos of him with London-based British-Nigerian, Kent Okwesa, which circulated on social media on Wednesday, August 2025. The photos captured the duo having a meal at a restaurant, which quickly fueled online speculation.

In a statement, Oseloka dismissed the rumours, stressing that his career in theatre and filmmaking naturally exposes him to people of diverse backgrounds, including different sexualities and identities.
He stated: “I know that being linked to public life often attracts gossip, but let me be clear my father is the politician, not me. Assuming that my personal life or choices amount to political statements is both flawed and childish. It says more about the pettiness of those spreading such stories than it does about me or my father.”
Oseloka condemned what he described as a recurring pattern of false narratives tied to ordinary pictures of him, noting that such portrayals were misrepresentations rather than revelations. He stressed that, unlike several other children of politicians, he has never relied on nepotism but has chosen to build his own career in theatre and filmmaking.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to focus on pressing national issues such as insecurity, economic hardship, poor infrastructure, and corruption rather than trivial gossip about his private life.
