Veekee James Opens Up on Depression Triggered by False Online Rumors
Veekee James admitted she battled depression after false online rumors about her marriage.
The fashion designer said the painful gossip left her emotionally drained before faith restored her strength.
Celebrity fashion designer Veekee James has revealed that she was at some point emotionally drained and depressed due to damaging online gossips.

In a recent interview with actress Nancy Isime, Veekee recounted the period when a false narrative surfaced online, accusing her of “snatching” her husband, Femi Atere, from a close friend. She admitted that the scandal deeply shook her, becoming one of the toughest experiences of her life.
“There was one that really shook me, and that was the period when we had to ask God to help us come out of it. Immediately, we came out of it; that was the end,” she said.
The designer revealed that the baseless accusations almost broke her, describing it as her first real brush with depression.
“It was a story about how I stole him from a friend, and we were sleeping with each other, which was all lies. And it almost put me into depression. That was the first time I got to know what people who say they feel depressed felt,” Veekee explained.
She recalled locking herself away during that period.
“I remember entering my room and not coming out for two days. I was crying and praying. The way God brought me out felt like a miracle, and I kept hearing more stories, which I laugh,” she added.
Veekee credited her faith and resilience for helping her navigate the storm, noting that the experience reshaped her understanding of mental health struggles.
