Ayra Starr Says She Has Nothing Left to Prove Anyone Except to Herself
Ayra Starr says she no longer feels pressured to prove herself in music.
The Grammy-nominated star now focuses on personal growth, self-expression, and creating songs that reflect her journey.
Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, better known as Ayra Starr, has declared that she no longer feels the need to prove herself to fans or the wider music industry.

The Sabi Girl crooner, who has risen to global recognition and earned a Grammy nomination, shared this perspective during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra in London. She explained that her only focus now is meeting her own standards and creating music that reflects her personal growth.
“I’m in a very comfortable place where I don’t see the need to prove myself to anybody other than myself,” she said.
Ayra further noted that her new mindset has shaped her creative direction, citing her latest release as an example.
“I released my song Hot Body because I feel like this is the right time. I’m in the right headspace. I feel good. Right now, my body is better than I have ever felt.”
“I didn’t just release it because it sounds good. Look what the hot body can do, that’s exactly how I feel.”
The singer emphasized that she is embracing her confidence, artistry, and self-expression in ways that go beyond industry validation, signaling a fresh chapter in her career.
