JAMB Clears Old WAEC Results, Orders Candidates to Re-Upload for 2025 Admissions

JAMB has directed all 2025 admission candidates to re-upload their WAEC results on its portal.

The board said earlier uploads have been wiped, and only final WAEC SSCE results will count.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has instructed all applicants aiming for admission in 2025 to re-upload their results from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on its website.

The directive affects all candidates who uploaded provisional results or used “awaiting results” before WAEC officially released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results. JAMB confirmed that all previously uploaded results have now been wiped from its system.

In a notice, the board explained:

“JAMB has dropped all previously uploaded results to allow candidates to upload the WAEC SSCE final results. Please re-upload your 2025 SSCE result to the JAMB portal without delay to be eligible for admission consideration.”

The board emphasized that only the final WAEC SSCE results will be recognized during the 2025 admission exercise, warning that candidates who fail to comply risk being excluded.

JAMB said many candidates uploaded results before WAEC completed its internal corrections, leading to inconsistencies. On August 4, WAEC initially released the 2025 WASSCE results showing just 38.32% of candidates passed with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics.

This caused nationwide concern until WAEC later discovered grading errors caused by a faulty code that affected Mathematics, English, Biology, and Economics. Following corrections, the pass rate was adjusted to 62.96%.

The revision forced JAMB to clear all uploads to prevent inaccurate data from affecting admissions. From August 14 to 21, JAMB halted uploads temporarily to resolve technical problems. The portal has now reopened, but with a clean slate, meaning every candidate must upload again even if their earlier results were correct.

All UTME candidates are required to visit JAMB-approved centres and re-upload their WAEC 2025 results immediately. Without this step, their admission applications will not be processed.
