2027 Elections: PDP Zones Presidential Ticket to South

The PDP has resolved to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South.

The decision was reached at the party’s NEC meeting, following zoning committee recommendations.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that its 2027 presidential ticket will be zoned to the southern region of the country. The decision was reached during the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on Monday.

Speaking after the meeting, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, explained that the move followed the recommendations of the Zoning Committee, which was chaired by Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri. According to him, the NEC also reviewed preparations for the party’s national convention scheduled for November and expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far.

Ologunagba further confirmed that the existing zoning arrangement for the National Working Committee will remain unchanged. “Since the office of the National Chairman is zoned to the North, the PDP 2027 presidential ticket is hereby zoned to the South,” he said.
