The forward links up with Jennifer Echegini, boosting PSG’s attack and Nigerian presence in Europe.

Rasheedat Ajibade, captain of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, has sealed a move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), signing a two-year contract with an option for a third following her exit from Atlético Madrid.

The 24-year-old forward, known for her pace, versatility, and sharp finishing, will now team up with fellow Nigerian international Jennifer Echegini at the Parc des Princes. She has already joined training with her new teammates, and PSG is expected to make an official announcement soon.

Ajibade, who kicked off her international journey at the 2018 WAFU Cup, swiftly emerged as one of Africa’s most promising talents. She enjoyed a remarkable four-year tenure at Atlético Madrid.

During her time in Spain, she won the Copa de la Reina and the Supercopa de España, while also becoming a fan favourite for her work rate and attacking flair.

On the continental stage, she played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) triumphs in 2018 and 2024, collecting individual accolades including Top Scorer and Player of the Tournament.

Her achievements have earned her national recognition as an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). Now, as she prepares for a new challenge in France, Ajibade is determined to adapt quickly to the demands of French football and establish herself in PSG’s star-studded squad.

With her experience in Spain and international pedigree, analysts believe she has the qualities to make an immediate impact in Division 1 Féminine and in PSG’s push for European glory.
