In a goodwill message to mark the state’s 34th anniversary on Wednesday, Otti pledged to build a safer, more prosperous Abia that its citizens would be proud of. He vowed that his administration would never allow criminal elements to take control of any part of the state.

“No inch of Abia State will be safe for those who traffic in violence and tools of destruction,” the governor warned, urging residents to support government policies aimed at securing lives and property.

On the occasion of the anniversary, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, the Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, commended the Otti administration for enhancing security, infrastructure, and healthcare services. He noted that the welfare of traditional rulers has also received a significant boost under the current government.

Unlike previous years, the 34th anniversary was observed quietly, with no public fanfare or large-scale celebrations. Instead, the government emphasized reflection and renewed commitment to good governance.

Governor Otti further encouraged women to play active roles in campaigns against crime and drug abuse, stressing that their involvement was crucial in protecting families and communities.

The anniversary aligned with additional happenings in the state, such as the preparations for the Asaba Games in 2025. Otti encouraged Abia athletes to maintain discipline and show respect towards their coaches. He also addressed concerns of students affected by the ongoing ASUU protest at Abia State University, while assuring citizens that his administration remains focused on building a state anchored on security, development, and accountability.
