Thugs Attack Convoy of Ex-AGF Abubakar Malami in Kebbi
Former Justice Minister Abubakar Malami escaped unhurt after his convoy was attacked by suspected thugs in Kebbi.
The ambush left several supporters injured and vehicles vandalized.
Former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, narrowly escaped harm on Monday, September 1, when his convoy was ambushed by suspected political thugs in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital.

Malami had just concluded a condolence visit to a bereaved family when the attackers struck. At least 10 vehicles in his convoy were vandalized, and several of his supporters sustained injuries.
The former minister, who now serves as a key figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi, condemned the incident, describing it as an orchestrated political assault.
“I only came to Birnin Kebbi to sympathize with families mourning their loved ones. It was not a campaign visit. Sadly, armed thugs stormed us from the direction of the APC secretariat, hurling weapons and stones, damaging vehicles and injuring our people,” Malami stated.
He insisted that the attack would not deter his political activities, declaring that there would be “no retreat and no surrender” in his pursuit of politics in the state.
However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi has denied any connection to the violence.
