Soludo’s Wife Has No Link to Mbadinuju Administration, Clarification Issued

Governor Soludo’s family has denied claims his wife worked under ex-Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju.

They labelled Senator Uche Ekwunife’s viral allegation false, urging the public to disregard the misleading statement.

The family of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has dismissed claims that his wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo, ever worked under the administration of former Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju.

The clarification follows a viral video in which Senator Uche Ekwunife alleged that the governor’s wife was part of Mbadinuju’s government. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Soludo family described the senator’s comments as “false, mischievous and misleading,” urging the public to disregard them.

According to the statement, Dr. Nonye Soludo was already a thriving entrepreneur during the Mbadinuju era, while her husband served as a lecturer at the University of Nigeria. It stressed that neither Soludo nor his wife had any involvement with the state government at the time.

The family accused Senator Ekwunife of resorting to “petty contrivance” and “inciting hate” through unfounded claims, warning that such remarks could amount to defamation. “Unlike Ekwunife, the governor’s wife can never be drawn into political or personal debasement,” the statement read.

It further challenged the senator to provide evidence for her allegations and to focus instead on explaining her own role in Anambra’s political crises between 1999 and 2003.

The Soludo family expressed confidence that Ndi Anambra would continue to support Dr. Nonye Soludo, praising her “compassion, simplicity, and commitment to women and children.”
