Nigerian Resident Doctors Begin Five-Day Nationwide Strike
Resident doctors nationwide plan a five-day warning strike from September 12 to demand better working conditions.
Their union says the action will pressure government to address urgent health sector concerns.
The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has announced that its members will embark on a five-day nationwide warning strike beginning on Friday, September 12, 2025. The action is aimed at pressing home their demands to improve working conditions and the health sector.

According to the statement, the resolution to strike followed an online National Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday, September 10, which lasted into the early hours of Thursday, September 11.
