Widow Found Dead on Farm in Bauchi’s Kafin Tafawa Community

A widow identified as Salomi Benjamin has been found dead on her farm in the Kafin Tafawa community on the outskirts of Bauchi metropolis.

Her body was reportedly discovered about two kilometers from her home after she failed to return from the farm on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Family members said she left for work around 8 a.m. but did not come back, prompting a search that ended with the tragic discovery later in the day.
Speaking to reporters, one of her sons, Simeon, confirmed the sequence of events and expressed shock over the killing. Neighbors also condemned the incident. Alex Markus, who lives near the family, described the attack as senseless and called on security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted. He commended the swift initial response of the Yelwa Divisional Police Officer but urged stronger action to bring justice.
As of the time of this report, the Bauchi State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the case.
