Libya Relocates 18 Undocumented Nigerian Migrants Ahead of Repatriation
Libya moved 18 undocumented Nigerian migrants from Sirte to Sabha ahead of planned repatriation.
Officials said the transfer is part of efforts to return foreign nationals without valid papers.
Libyan authorities have relocated 18 undocumented Nigerian migrants from the Sirte Immigration Detention Centre to the southern city of Sabha in preparation for their return home.

The movement took place on Monday, September 15, under the oversight of the Libyan Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM).
In a statement, the humanitarian monitoring organization Migrant Rescue Watch confirmed the relocation, noting that the migrants were transported by road in a security-escorted convoy as part of Libya’s ongoing plan to return foreign nationals without valid documentation.
Libya remains one of the primary transit hubs for migrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea to Europe. Detention facilities across the country continue to hold large numbers of undocumented individuals awaiting deportation or repatriation.
In recent years, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been working with Libyan officials to coordinate voluntary repatriation flights, giving stranded migrants an organized means of returning to their home countries.
