Governor Otti made the announcement on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to his office by the awardees, led by the NYSC State Coordinator, Gladys Adama. He directed the State Head of Service to issue immediate appointment letters to the honorees and instructed that the existing embargo on recruitment be temporarily lifted to accommodate their employment.

According to the governor, the decision was taken to reward excellence and to encourage young people to make positive contributions wherever they find themselves. He added that the nine beneficiaries were exempted from interviews as their accomplishments had already demonstrated their competence and readiness for service.

Otti expressed pride in their achievements, praising them for bringing honors to Abia State even while serving outside its borders. He also lauded the NYSC State Coordinator for her dedication to nurturing outstanding corps members and for presenting them to the state government for recognition.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Nwogu Chinomso from Obingwa Local Government Area, who served in Zamfara State, expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for the gesture, pledging their full commitment and loyalty in discharging their duties as new civil servants.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator highlighted that the awardees had distinguished themselves in various places of primary assignment across the country, noting that only one of them served in the eastern region while the others served in the North. She presented the names of the awardees: Nwogu Chinonso, Anyanwụ Promise, Ezieme Francis Uba, Emmanuel Ogbenyealu Ezinne, Abia Chinwendu Grace, Nwafike Esther Chiemela, Ugwa Obinna Mark, Eke Lawrence Miracle, and James Raphael Chukwuebuka.

Governor Otti concluded by encouraging the new employees to maintain their exemplary conduct and to continue making Abia proud in their future endeavours.
