Nasty C Opens Up on the Real Story Behind His Stage Name
Nasty C reveals his stage name was randomly chosen and not tied to any meaning.
He admits past stories about its origin were made up to honor his first producer.
South African rap star Nasty C has opened up about the real story behind his stage name, revealing that he chose the name randomly.

In a recent interview with Madame Joyce, the host asked how he came up with “Nasty C,” joking that he “doesn’t look nasty.” Nasty C laughed and replied: “It’s random. I just put a bunch of letters together and I started making a word out of it and then I picked that one. I don’t know why.”
When asked what the “C” stands for, the rapper admitted: “I have no idea, I don’t know.” He went on to explain that for years he told a different story about a producer calling him “Nasty Cat” during his first recording session, which later became “Nasty C.” But he confessed that was just a story to give credit to the producer who first recorded him, made beats for him and taught him to use FL Studio. “He’s a big part of my story,” Nasty C said.
The interviewer then asked if the name was just “for the vibe,” to which Nasty C replied: “Yeah… I wish, I wanna change it now.”
