Eyewitness accounts indicate that the incident happened on Wednesday following a minor dispute between Adio and the rider, who was accused of scratching his vehicle. The disagreement reportedly escalated, leading Adio and several associates to attack the rider until he collapsed.

A journalist, Chris Nwandu, who posted a video of the episode on social media, claimed Adio is well known in the area for violent behavior against tricycle (Marwa) operators. He also alleged that only days before the fatal assault, the same individual had beaten another operator who was subsequently hospitalized.

According to a police insider, the victim did not survive the injuries he sustained in the beating. The source stated that the suspect has been arrested and is currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department.

As of press time, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, had yet to provide an official statement on the incident.
