Uche Ogbodo Explains Reasons Behind Her Body Enhancement Surgery
Uche Ogbodo explains she chose body enhancement surgery to regain confidence after childbirth.
The actress says she wants to be transparent and encourage women to feel good about their choices.
Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has spoken about why she decided to undergo body enhancement surgery.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, the mother of three said the choice came after struggling with her body image following childbirth.
She revealed that growing up she was busty but didn’t have an hourglass shape. After three children, she said she no longer liked how her body looked and wanted to regain confidence. According to her, the procedure was done “for my mental health, to feel good, okay, and enough.”
Uche also stressed that unlike many celebrities who hide their procedures, she prefers to be transparent.
“In this country, I always find it a bit awkward that people are not honest and transparent most times, especially celebrities. You’re a role model, and then you lie to people who look up to you or who love you genuinely,” she said.
She explained that many women disappear and come back with a new body, making it seem as if they were born that way. In her view, this creates unrealistic standards. Ogbodo said she wants to use her own story to encourage other women to feel confident and be honest about their choices.
Speaking about her surgery, Uche noted that three cesarean sections had left their mark on her body. “Nobody is moulded in perfection, especially not mothers who have gone through cesarean sections. I did mine three times; it’s not easy to maintain that kind of body,” she said. She added that her husband supported her decision and understood her struggles.
While acknowledging the risks of surgery, Uche compared it to everyday risks, saying there’s danger in everything, even malaria.
