Speaking with State House correspondents after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Fubara confirmed that the once-tense relationship between him and Wike has been resolved.

Fubara, reinstated to office five days earlier following a six-month suspension, stressed that his administration and Wike are now working together in the state’s interest. When asked if the peace was genuine, he replied that the reconciliation was real and ongoing.

He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for intervening to restore stability in Rivers State, describing the President as a father figure and explaining that his visit was to formally thank him and affirm his return to duty.

According to Fubara, the meeting with the President was simply to express appreciation and seek guidance to prevent future disputes. The governor’s stop at the Villa marked his first official visit since the end of emergency rule and his reinstatement to office.
