Founded just six months ago, Tonic FC operates as a feeder team to its parent club, FC Esmoriz. The Ikorodu-based side recently competed in the Nationwide League One (NLO) championship, narrowly missing out on promotion.

Despite its short history, the club has already begun making waves, with its talent pipeline now producing players set for Europe.

According to the club’s General Overseer, Prince Dapo Ajibade, Tonic FC was established to identify and develop emerging football talent at the grassroots level.

“Tonic FC is a veritable football factory based in the lovely Ikorodu community of Lagos State. This is just the tip of the iceberg because we have many more young and talented footballers who will soon join the professional ranks,” Ajibade said.

Among the five players moving to FC Esmoriz is towering goalkeeper Ayuba Oyetola, who stands at 6ft 9in. The group is scheduled to travel to Portugal in the coming weeks to continue their careers in professional football.
