Olubadan Ladoja Urges Tinubu to Approve Ibadan State Creation Before 2027
The new Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has urged President Tinubu to create Ibadan State.
He made the appeal after receiving the Staff of Office from Governor Seyi Makinde.
The 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to approve the creation of Ibadan State before the next general elections in 2027.

Oba Ladoja made the plea shortly after Governor Seyi Makinde formally presented him with the Staff of Office. Addressing the crowd in Yoruba, the monarch said the call for Ibadan State was a longstanding demand and a major priority for the people, adding that the President had already received their message and knew how strongly they felt about it.
Governor Makinde, in his speech, described Ladoja’s coronation as a historic moment for the city and its people. He praised the event as a symbol of cultural continuity and expressed delight at witnessing the official presentation of the Staff of Office. According to the governor, the celebrations across Ibadan reflect how deeply residents value their heritage and traditions.
