Troops Repel Boko Haram Attacks in Borno, Kill 11 Insurgents
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai foiled terrorist attacks in Borno, killing insurgents and seizing weapons.
The coordinated military response underscores ongoing efforts to dismantle insurgent networks and restore regional peace.
Troops under the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai have thwarted multiple terrorist attacks in Borno State, neutralizing 11 insurgents and seizing weapons and illicit drugs.
According to security sources, the soldiers foiled a night-time infiltration at Mallamfatori using indirect firepower, forcing the attackers to retreat before they could launch a coordinated assault.
The sources explained that a separate incident in Damboa led to the death of one member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), even as troops maintained their defensive positions.
They also disclosed that a limited clearance operation launched around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday yielded significant results. During the operation, forces engaged a group of insurgents in the Loskori general area, which lies between the zones of responsibility of the 195th and 73rd Battalions.
Two soldiers were reportedly injured in the encounter but are receiving treatment and remain in stable condition. The troops killed 11 terrorists and recovered two AK-47 rifles along with a substantial quantity of narcotics, the sources said.
