Nigerian Navy Dismantles Six Illegal Oil Refining Sites in Delta State
Nigerian Navy operatives have dismantled six illegal refining sites during a major operation in Delta State.
Officials say the crackdown recovered thousands of liters of stolen crude and vital equipment.
In a renewed push to boost Nigeria’s crude oil production and clamp down on economic sabotage, Nigerian Navy operatives from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Escravos in Warri South West, Delta State, have dismantled six illegal refining operations.

The coordinated mission uncovered more than 11,000 liters of stolen crude oil hidden in dugout pits and plastic sacks at Obodo-Omadino, a riverside community in the state.
Under the leadership of Navy Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, the FOB Escravos team also seized additional volumes of illicit crude oil and confiscated equipment used in the illegal refining process. Captain Okoloagu explained that the exercise aligns with the strategic orders of Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, who has prioritized continuous action against oil theft and related crimes.
The Navy unit pledged to maintain relentless pressure on those engaged in oil theft and reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance toward criminal activity in the region.
