Enforcement of Motor Vehicle Tinted Glass law commences on Oct 2
Nigeria Police have refuted claims a court stopped enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Tinted Glass law.
Officials say no injunction exists and enforcement will begin nationwide on October 2, 2025.
The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed reports claiming a court stopped it from enforcing the Motor Vehicle Tinted Glass law set to begin on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Over the weekend, some Nigerians argued that the police were acting in defiance of a pending lawsuit filed by the Nigerian Bar Association. They maintained that since the case challenging the law’s authority to require a tinted glass permit is still in court, the police should delay enforcement.
But in a statement posted on his X account, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said no court had issued any order suspending the law. He stressed that enforcement of the policy would proceed as scheduled.
