Osimhen Becomes First Nigerian to Score 10 Champions League Goals
Victor Osimhen has become the first Nigerian to score 10 UEFA Champions League goals.
The Galatasaray striker set the record with a penalty against Liverpool, surpassing Obafemi Martins.
Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, has made history by becoming the first Nigerian to score 10 goals in the UEFA Champions League.

The 26-year-old reached the milestone on Tuesday after scoring for Galatasaray in their group stage clash against Liverpool at Rams Park.
Osimhen, who recently returned from an ankle injury picked up during Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, was included in coach Okan Buruk’s starting line-up. He converted a penalty in the 16th minute after Dominik Szoboszlai fouled a Galatasaray player inside the box. The striker calmly placed the ball past Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
With the goal, Osimhen became Nigeria’s all-time top scorer in the competition. He now leads the chart with 10 goals, ahead of Obafemi Martins with nine. Ademola Lookman, Nwankwo Kanu, Victor Ikpeba, and Yakubu Aiyegbeni each have five goals to their names.
