Lagos NURTW Chairman Sego Speaks After DSS Invitation, Denies Allegations
Lagos NURTW chairman Mustapha Adekunle, known as Sego, has denied making inciting remarks after a DSS invitation.
He said the allegations were false, stressing his commitment to peace, unity, and fair leadership.
The Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle, better known as Sego, has dismissed reports accusing him of making inciting comments against certain groups.

In a statement released on Thursday, Sego confirmed that he was invited by the Department of State Services (DSS) earlier in the day but stressed that the allegations were unfounded.
According to him, he has always promoted peace within the union, noting that his communications are strictly directed to members. He explained that people are free to choose their affiliations, and he fully respects that freedom.
Sego argued that his words were twisted and suggested that the allegations were an orchestrated attempt to discredit him and disrupt the union’s activities in Lagos. He emphasized that opposition is inevitable in every position, but described this as a deliberate effort to unsettle his leadership.
The NURTW chairman confirmed that he had been granted bail and reassured members and the public of his dedication to unity, stability, and progress within the transport workers’ body.
He also urged online platforms to be more responsible in their reporting, warning against spreading unverified claims. While appreciating bloggers for informing the public, he cautioned them to uphold fairness and accuracy, insisting that only factual and balanced reports should be shared.
Concluding, Sego called for peace and harmony among Lagos residents while reaffirming his support for freedom of association and collective progress across the state.
