Bandits K!ll Man in Kaduna Two Months After He Completed NYSC
Shock and grief have gripped Kachia after young teacher and recent NYSC graduate Jeremiah Adina was shot dead.
His k!lling has reignited public anger over rising insecurity in the area.
A community in Kachia is in shock after Jeremiah Adina, a recently concluded National Youth Service Corps member and primary school teacher, was shot dead while travelling to the local government headquarters.

A Facebook friend of the victim, Doris Mackson, said Adina’s death has left his family and neighbors grieving. She recalled that he grew up an orphan, worked on farms to pay for teacher training at the College of Education and later earned a Bachelor of Education while holding down a teaching job.
Doris said Adina completed his NYSC passing-out parade just two months ago and was planning to apply for a Master’s degree. She described him as hardworking and hopeful, a young man determined to improve life for his mother, wife and children.
According to Doris, Adina left home the previous evening telling his wife and mother he was travelling to Kachia, a journey of about 23 kilometres that usually takes 15 to 20 minutes. Around three to four kilometres from the village the vehicle was attacked. Both Adina and the driver were shot dead at the scene while another passenger escaped with injuries.
Mackson noted the double blow to the village, saying it was still mourning the recent k!lling of Mr Kwanaki just two days earlier. She asked how many more promising lives would be lost and warned that the family left behind faces a bleak future without its breadwinner.
She also criticized authorities for their silence, saying people keep dying while leaders travel abroad and military bases in rural areas appear to be of little help.
Doris urged justice for Adina and Mr Kwanaki, and expressed confidence that those responsible would be brought to account. She asked the community and relevant agencies to support the widow, mother and children during this difficult time.
